Amazon is launching a new Fire TV Stick media streamer with Alexa Voice Remote control. The uprated streamer is also said to be 30 per cent faster than its predecessor, with the ability to run multiple apps without the need to close them.

As with Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, the Alexa Fire TV Stick will allow users to check on news, play music and so on. Additionally, the Alexa implementation on the Fire TV Stick will allow users to "find science fiction" or "open Netflix." Alexa can also be used to control playback, jumping forward or backwards through a programme by specific time increments.

The HDMI streamer has a quad-core processor, with 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi and Advanced Streaming and Prediction (ASAP) for Amazon Video. It also supports HEVC, but is listed as a 1080p only device.
