Smart home company Netatmo is the latest connected Thermostat vendor to introduce Google Home compatibility.
Users can simply ask their smart speaker to either adjust heating ( “OK Google, turn up the temperature by 3 degrees”) or set a specific temperature (“OK Google, set my Thermostat to 20 degrees”). Owners can also ask what the temperature of their house is at any given time (“OK Google, what’s the temperature inside?”).
“We strongly believe in voice control as it provides new smart home services to our users, making their lives easier”, says Fred Potter, Founder and CEO Netatmo. “Integrating Google Home enables our users to improve their comfort at home without lifting a finger: just with their voice, they know what the temperature in their house is and can increase or decrease it.”
The Smart Thermostat, and partnering Smart Radiator Valves, have been designed by Philippe Starck. Netatmo says its Smart Thermostat allows its owners to use 37 per cent less energy on average to heat their home, thanks to smart functionality and analysis tools.
The Netatmo Thermostat retails for £149. Currently, Netatmo has devices in four categories: released thirteen devices and accessories, divided into four categories: weather, energy, security and air care. Through its “with Netatmo” initiative, the company is pursuing partnerships within the building industry.
