Smart lighting and IoT specialist Nanoleaf has launched a Screen Mirroring service, available via a desktop app, for its smart, on-wall Canvas lighting system. The app, designed to control Nanoleaf installations, is currently in beta on Mac and windows..
Designed to work in conjunction with a flatscreen display, the technology allows a customisable Nanoleaf Canvas display to mimic the colours of any onscreen imagery. The idea is similar to that long used by Philips for its Ambilight system, although the execution is quite different.
The aim, suggests the manufacturer, is to create a more immersive viewing experience. The Canvas display can visually echo anything, from fire to fireworks, in real time.
The Nanoleaf Canvas light display allows users to control its appearance, changing colours at the touch of a button. When set in ‘dance’ mode to responds to played music tracks. It is compatible with Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
The nanoleaf display, which is modular in nature, can be expanded and customised through various linking kits. Set-up is simple, with drill-free installation, says its makers.
The Nanoleaf Canvas retails for £90 for four light squares.
