NAD Electronics has announced a new nine channel flagship Dolby Atmos AV receiver, the T 778. Expected to launch in November, with a retail price of £2499, it’s a nine channel design, rated at 80W per channel. It’s making its public bow at CEDIA Expo.

The T 778 is positioned as a custom install solution for home theatre and music listening. It features a low profile 3U rack-mount chassis and TFT touch display. In addition to an RS232 Serial Control Port, and trigger In/Out, there’s driver support for all major control systems.

Channels are configurable for surround or second zone audio.

The AVR utilises a Modular Design Construction (MDC), providing an upgrade path for owners, as future digital formats become available. The AVR offers two MDC slots. The AVR is also multiroom capable, courtesy of the brand’s BluOS platform.

It supports Bluetooth aptX HD and MQA decoding available on all digital inputs, while Integrated Dirac Live room correction is available for theatre calibration.

“NAD firmly believes that there are many people for whom music will always come first,” says Greg Stidsen, NAD’s Chief Technology Officer. “With NAD’s reputation for high value and high performance, it was apparent that the T 778 would have to please the most demanding audiophiles and videophiles. MDC then helps protect their investment for years to come.”
