MQA has announced a partnership with music streaming platform Deezer, and confirmed playback support on the latest Sony Walkman, Onkyo and Pioneer music players.

The Deezer deal will see MQA technology integrated across the service’s ecosystem of hardware partners and connected devices. Both companies already share notable partners, including Bluesound, LG, Onkyo, MOON by Simaudio and Sony. The Deezer music streaming service boasts over 43 million songs, is live in 185 countries, and has more than 12 million active users across the globe.

At IFA 2017, MQA announced an agreement with LG, that will see the technology embedded in LG’s new V30 smartphone (pictured below), making it the first globally available MQA-enabled handset. MQA playback will also be available on the two latest portable devices from Sony’s iconic Walkman brand, the WM-ZX300 and WM-A40 models. Both portable players are capable of playing back downloaded MQA music.

Also at IFA, Pioneer and Onkyo will demonstrated TIDAL Masters mobile streaming on their latest Digital Audio Players, the XDP-30R and DP-S1.

Other new MQA partnerships include Korean-based hi-res streaming service, Groovers, which will begin streaming by the end of the year, and live music download partner, Nugs.net, which offers on-demand concerts from artists including Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and Dead & Company.

Longtime supporter 7digital will also use MQA for a new hi-res streaming service, called HDmusicStream, while Sonic Studio’s Amarra Luxe 4.1 media player, will offer MQA for local playback and streaming of high resolution music.

Japan-based music store, e-onkyo music, has announced the expansion of its MQA music offering, with the addition of Warner Music Group’s hi-res catalogue in MQA. The Onkyo Music store, which serves Germany, UK and the US, will also begin offering MQA music this month.

Over the last 15 months, MQA has concluded deals with all three major record labels.
