Monitor Audio has announced a new Gold range of Hi-Fi and home cinema speakers, which it says meld “the finest materials and decades of loudspeaker know-how.”

The line comprises six different models: a single stand mount model, two floorstanders, single centre speaker, rear surround speakers and subwoofer.

Design characteristics include rounded vertical edges, and a soft touch panel on the top of the (stand mount and floorstanding) speakers. The models are available in dark walnut, ebony real wood veneer, piano gloss black and white.

The Gold line feature technologies first introduced in Monitor Audio’s flagship Platinum II loudspeakers. The Platinum II drivers have been re-developed, and secured with Monitor Audio’s single bolt mechanism for a clean appearance.

The Gold W12 subwoofer retails for £2,100; the Gold FX surrounds are £2,100 a pair; the Gold C200 centre is £1,100; the Gold 300 floorstanders are £4,000 a pair; the Gold 200 floorstanders are £2,900 a pair and the Gold 100 standmounts are £1,400 a pair.
