Looking for a reference grade pre-power combo? The Mark Levinson No 523 analogue preamplifier and matching No 534 dual-monaural power amplifier, are now available in the UK via distributor Karma-AV. The two partner to create to create a high-performance pre-power combination, offering a matched Pure Path discrete, dual-monaural signal path from source to speaker output.

The No 523 preamplifier (pictured below) features five line-level analogue inputs: two balanced XLR, and three single-ended RCAs in addition to a Pure Phono (RCA with grounding pin) input. It routes to balanced (XLR) and single-ended stereo phono outputs, as well as a 6.3mm main drive headphone output, integrated into the front fascia. A selectable 80Hz high-pass filter enables easy subwoofer integration.

The No 534 dual-monaural power amplifier (below) delivers 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms, operating purely in Class A for most listening conditions.
