Marantz has unveiled three new AV receivers at the annual D+M dealer product preview in Sorrento, Italy. The soon-to-launch home cinema trio comprises the £599 SR-5008, £899 SR6008 and £1400 SR-7008 (pictured above). All are Apple Airplay enabled, offer DLNA network music playback, alongside music services Spotify and Last.fm. Support for 4K upscaling and pass-through stretches across the range. In an effort to simplify their use, long seem as a bugbear for modern AVRs, the new models also incorporate a simplified set up assistant and UI.

The entry-level SR5008 is a seven channel design, rated at 180W p/c, offering six HDMI inputs and Audyssey MultEQ XT auto calibration. The SR6008, rated at 185W per channel, adds a second zone HDMI output and two extra speaker connections, plus InstaPrevue picture-in-picture preview of HDMI sources. It also offers DTS Neo:X processing. The range-topping SR7008 is a 9 x 200W model, with 11.2 channel pre-outs, three HDMI outputs, two LFE outputs, and advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration with Audyssey LFC. While Marantz and Denon share a common construction platform, owner D+M was keen to stress there are significant differences beneath the hoods of the two brands, citing the addition of the Ken Ishiwata-tuned HDAM circuit on all SR series AV receivers.

The brand will also ship two network music players this summer, the £499 M-CR610 Melody Media and the £399 M-CR510 Melody Stream. Both feature AirPlay with Spotify support and have integrated Wi-Fi.  The latter is distinguished by the inclusion of a CD player. Power output is rated at 2 x 60W on both. The systems will be joined by a new CD player and stereo amplifier, the £350 CD6005 and £380 PM6005 - the CD player adds USB file playback for the first time.

CI distribution is via AWE Europe. For more on AWE's product portfolio and services, visit our partner page.
