Marantz has launched its latest flagship AV receiver, the SR8012. This eleven channel Dolby Atmos model is able to deliver a 7.1.4-channel immersive sound system, and is compatible with the Heos multiroom wireless audio system. It also supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AirPlay streaming.

In addition to Dolby Atmos, the AVR has codecs for DTS:X and Auro 3D; processing is handled by four SHARC DSPs. Connectivity includes eight HDMI inputs, with three outputs. All support HDCP 2.2 and are compatible with Hybrid Log Gamma and Dolby Vision HDR. New Enhanced Audio Return Channel technology eARC will be supported via a firmware update.

Suitable for larger theatres, the receiver has a claimed power output of 205w per channel. The copper chassis design reflects the brand’s Reference Series hi-fi range. File support includes 24bit/192kHz FLAC, WAV and ALAC, and DSD up to 5.6MHz.

The SR8012 will be available in black and silver finishes, and will sell for £2,699 when it begins shipping in December.
