LG will debut its second-generation CineBeam Laser 4k Ultra Short Throw projector at CES 2019. The HU85L is a successor to its first 4k projector, the HU80K, and can be project onto practically any flat surface, be it wall, floor or ceiling, making it ideal for media room applications.
The CineBeam requires just 2-inches to project a 90-inch diagonal image. At 7 inches, it can cast a 120-inch image. There’s also a 12-point keystone adjustment feature, to eliminate any image distortion.
Brightness is rated at 2,500 ANSI lumens. In addition to 4k resolution, there’s wide colour gamut support, says LG. Input support comprises HDMI, USB and Ethernet. It incorporates a forward-facing sound system.
The UST projector also supports voice commands, thanks to LG’s AI technology, ThinQ. Viewers can control the operation of the projector by saying “turn off projector after the movie has finished” or narrow the content to view by telling the projector to “play Minecraft videos on YouTube”. Viewers can also search for specific movie stars, using the microphone in the unit’s backlit Magic Remote.
“The new CineBeam Laser projector marries spectacular 4K viewing experience with the convenience of AI technology,” says Jang Ik-hwan, head of LG’s IT business division. “There is no other product like this on the market, illustrating how LG continues to deliver unique value to consumers.”
