Leema Acoustics has introduced the Pulse IV stereo amplifier. Designed as a hub for popular audio sources, it features turntable connectivity, aptX Bluetooth playback and six digital audio inputs, split between optical and coax.

Now in fourth generation guise, the Pulse IV features all-new metal casework with an XMOS USB Type-B input to improve digital sound quality from connected devices. Audiophile credentials include a high-quality phono stage for vinyl playback (as first seen in Leema’s award-winning standalone Essentials phono stage, priced at £595) and a 32-bit/384kHz-DSD capable Sabre DAC.

Part of the re-introduced Spectrum range, the Pulse IV offers both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil compatibility for vinyl, so all turntables can be connected.

Power output is rated at 2x40w. Lerema says the Pulse IV has sufficient capacity to drive all speaker types, including those with difficult loads. For install flexibility, the Pulse IV also sports two pairs of preamp outputs enabling connection to a range of devices, including power amps and subwoofers, plus a dedicated fixed-level record output for archiving..

Designed and manufactured in the uk, the Pulse IV retails for £2,295
