KEF has expanded its custom install speaker range with new additions to the CS/QS Square and CL/QL Rectangle loudspeaker lines. These comprise the Ci130QS (£190), Ci130CS (£150), Ci200QS (£320) and Ci160CSDS (£240, pictured above) Squares, and the Ci200QL (£340) and Ci200CL (£260) Rectangles.

Both the QS and QL models feature the brand's proprietary Uni-Q driver array, which places an aluminium dome tweeter in the acoustic centre of the woofer, allowing both to act as a single, focused sound source; the CS and CL iterations have an asymmetrical tweeter island, which creates a wider, off-axis soundfield.

The new speakers also include a forward woofer mounting and the brand's Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) design, for seamless installation. The philosophy behind the new models, says the brand, is to deliver "exceptional audio performance but make installation fast and easy."

Features on the new models include magnetic grilles, new wider mounting leg fixings, protective PCB covers and moisture-resistant fixings and grilles - rough-in frames and rear enclosures are available as options. The new arrivals join the Round CR and QR in-ceiling/in-wall speakers released in 2011, and the first Squares and Rectangles, the 160s, which debuted earlier this year.

Designed in the UK, all the new arrivals have been voiced to match their siblings. KEF runs a dedicated technical and service support department at its UK HQ, which it says "offers full support to custom installers and consumers alike."
