Media server pioneer Kaleidescape is sweetening the deal on its innovative Cinema One movie player by offering 50 free movies, worth approximately £500 at retail. The promotion runs until December 31.

The Cinema One is a simple to install Kaleidescape player with access to the brand's new online store; the titles are downloaded to the player directly. The store offers a wide range of content, much of which is in full 1080p Blu-ray quality. Users can also import CD, DVD, or Blu-ray discs direct to the Cinema One's hard drive. In addition to direct playback, titles benefit from additional metadata created by Kaleidescape , which strips away ads and provides shortcuts to film highlights or music tracks. The Cinema One employs a 4TB drive and is able to store up to 600 DVDs or 100 Blu-ray quality movies. It retails for £3,295.

"With the inclusion of 50 free movies, Cinema One is the perfect gift to create great family memories during the festive season," says Kaleidescape CEO and founder Michael Malcolm. "With Cinema One families can select old treasures or enjoy new releases, and experience superior quality that can be seen and heard. Simply press Play and you'll instantly be transported to a cinematic journey like never before." Malcolm adds that the user experience can be bolstered with a dedicated iPad app and on-screen movie guide.
