Opus Technologies is launching two new digital audio modules for its 6 Series multi-room entertainment and home automation/ KNX control system at ISE 2012.
The 6 Series controller, which supports HD video distribution and offers a fully customisable graphic user interface, currently has provision for three internal audio source modules, and is supported by FM and DAB tuner modules. New at the show will be a Network Radio and audio streamer plug-in (the NRM610) and an iPad/iPod module (IDU610).
Opus business unit director David Vukovich, says the additions now allow Opus 6 Series customers to access "a virtually endless digital music content from attached iPads/iPods, NAS drives, UPnP devices and externally from internet radio stations and streaming services including BBC iPlayer."
The NRM610 Network Radio Module connects to one of three integrated source expansion ports in the MCU610 master control unit. File support includes MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC and high definition 24-bit audio formats, streamed from any UPnP device on a LAN, including PCs and NAS drives. The module can also go online to stream network radio, BBC iPlayer and weather information.
Navigation is via Opus 6 Series touchscreens and/or an app for iOS devices devices; the radio module's user interface can also be displayed on TVs in all zones of a 6 Series installation.
Opus says it will also be showcasing DemoPad for iPhone and iPad. This new app provides enhanced control of AV and home automation devices using a new, intuitive interface which replicates familiar controls, like those of a Sky remote, with "virtually infinite scope for customisation, including advanced macro operations."
A PC software suite comes pre-configured with Opus commands and can be personalised with custom graphics, backgrounds and icons, enabling the custom installer to create a unique interface for every individual client; this can then be transferred to the DemoPad app.
Opus Technologies can be found at stand #5T98. Integrated Systems Europe 2012 runs between January 31 and February 2 2012 at the Amsterdam RAI. To register for ISE please use this link and quote your INSIDE CI Invitation code for a free show pass: 258197
