Audio specialist iFi has launched the Nano iDSD Black Label, a low-cost, high-performance DAC/Headphone amp that can be used on the move or in a home system. It’s the first product from the company to be MQA compatible.
The pocket-sized unit can drive headphones up to 600Ohm, has a balanced output, and will work with an amplifier/AV receiver or active speakers via the 3.5mm line out. It also offers OTG ‘A-Type’ USB connectivity.
A Burr-Brown True Native DAC offers full high-resolution audio playback, and supports PCM up to 32/384 kHz, as well DXD and DSD 256 formats. It features a dual-mono HPA/analogue stage with 285mW headphone amplifier (that’s 10x more powerful than most phones or laptops), and IEMatch for sensitive in-ear monitors. Its Lithium Polymer battery lasts around 10 hours.
The iFi Nano Black Lable DAC was launched at a media event in London, at the House of St Barnabas (pictured). The brand offers a range of high-end audio equipment, including DACs, headphone amplifiers, phono stages and preamps. The Nano iDSD Black Label retails for £199.
