Hitachi hopes to popularise the super-large TV category with the launch of a 75-inch 4K HDR TV, priced at just £1500.
Clearly looking to score with sports fans (the Commonwealth Games in Australia happens in April, with the FIFA World Cup following in the summer), the csreen weighs a substantial 37kg and features a Freeview Play tuner wiuth integrated catch-up TV services.
Additional streaming apps courtesy of the Hitachi smarTVue, which includes Netflix and YouTube. We anticipate that the set is compatible with HDR10 and HLG, but not any of the two competing dynamic metadata standards. Connectivity is very much mid-range, with three HDMIs and twin USBs. The big set is available exclusively from Argos.
