Installing an HDMI distribution network just got a lot easier. Distribution specialist HD Connectivity has added two HDBaseT matrix models to its HDanywhere line-up: a 4 x 4 solution and a larger 8 x 8 package. Prices start at £1,499 (inc VAT).

Adopting HDBaseT technology simplifies HDMI CAT 5/6 cable network projects as it removes the need to double up on cable. A Single Cat6 run can deliver lossless HD video and audio, fast internet and control up to 100 metres. The company says it's expecting a big take-up of HDBaseT for small and mid-sized custom install projects.

Both units come bundled with integration drivers for "the most popular" home control systems; RS-232 & HEX code integration guides are also included. "Installers can order with confidence knowing that they have everything needed for the job right out the box," says the brand.

Indeed, HDConnectivity is so confident about the new HDBaseT products (and indeed, its entire range of HDMI solutions) that it's now offering a free two-week demo loan to any account holder who wants to get hands-on prior to purchase. MD Chris Pinder says: "We are very aware that margins are getting tighter so ease and speed of installation is vital for dealers to see returns on their installs."

In addition to this 'try before you buy' promotion, the brand is also keen to reassure integrators that it offers extensive on-site support. Its engineers are all ex-CI, and there's a no-quibble direct-to-site product exchange program, accompanied by a technician, when necessary.

Adds Pinder: "We have made it as easy as possible for dealers and installers to work with us and we welcome them to try out our products and services and make a judgment for themselves."

This try before you buy is a great idea, support is so important on these type of products.
