TV fantasy blockbuster Game of Thrones is going Dolby Atmos. HBO has confirmed the GoT Steelbook Collection (pictured below) will feature Dolby Atmos sound remixes as well as season box art created by the same creative team responsible for the opening credits.

Each individual Steelbook depicts a specific location significant to the season, as well as collectable magnets. Season 1 packaging features Winterfell; the magnet is the direwolf sigil of House Stark. Season 2 is King’s Landing, and the magnet depicts the Lannisters banner. Season 3 has the sigil of House Frey with the location being the Red Wedding. Season 4 represents Castle Black and the Wall; the magnet features a crow and Jon Snow’s sword Longclaw.

HBO says: “Dolby Atmos places and moves sounds and music anywhere in the room, including overhead, creating a captivating experience that brings entertainment alive all around the audience. With the new Steelbook set, fans can hear Daenerys’s dragons swoop past them and feel the soaring score rise and fall around them.”

Seasons 1 and 2 go due on sale in November. Winter is coming...
