French Hi-Fi specialist Focal is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year, and has confirmed that it is planning a limited edition range of special ‘40 year’ products.
Focal will unveil the fortieth birthday collection at Munich’s High-End exhibition in May. The line will include sound solutions for the home, in-car and professional studios, “combining heritage and modernity, to continue to bring music, design and emotions to life,” it says.
Focal’s first speaker driver manufacturing workshop was set up within a precision mechanics company in Saint-Etienne, France, in 1979. Forty years on, still based in Saint-Etienne, now employs around 250 employees. From home hi-fi loudspeakers, the brand has since moved into the in-car sector, professional studios and audiophile headphones. Today, partnered with Naim Audio as part of the Vervent Audio Group, Focal enjoys global reach.
The brand closely oversees every step in the creation of its Made in France products, from the development process through to its manufacturing techniques. With leading edge research into cones and speaker drivers, the brand has built a considerable catalogue of patent-protected technologies.
