Sonos  Soundbar  Mounts

There’s no shortage of installation options for the new Sonos Beam smart soundbar. Accessory specialist Flexson has announced five mounts and stands for the Alex-enabled 'bar.

“Each accessory makes the Beam even easier to live with, however – or wherever – you want to use it, from living room star to kitchen companion,” says Flexson product manager, Behcet Sevdali. “All accessories are premium designs, precision designed in the UK to maximise and match the features and looks of the Sonos Beam.”

An adjustable wall mount allows integrators to position the Beam on-wall or under cabinets. Tilt functionality allows it to be angled, either 90 degrees up, or down. The adjustable wall mount retails for £90.

Two cantilevered mounts, which can be used to hold both a TV and Sonos Beam, will be available. Both tilt and swivel. The smaller model supports TVs up to 40-inch screen size and 20kg, and sells for £150. A larger model handles panels up to 65-inches, and sells for £300.

Alternatively, there’s an adjustable TV Stand, able to hold TVs measuring up to 65-inches (£199), and a TV mount attachment, designed to fit on to a full-motion articulating TV wall mount, priced at £79.

The Sonos Beam is just 65cm long and weighs 2.8kg. Unlike the Playbar, it has an HDMI ARC connection and offers Amazon Alexa voice control, via five far-field microphones. The Beam uses four full-range drivers, atweeter and three passive radiators, pointing forwards and to the side. In addition to PCM stereo, the Beam will downmix Dolby Digital 5.1, but has no DTS decoding support.

The Sonos Beam goes on sale July 17, priced at £399.
