Falcon Acoustics has launched a loudspeaker system for home assembly which it maintains offers the performance of a high quality three-way speaker for less than half the price of a typical pre-built competitor.

The IMF200 ‘Complete@Home’ package includes Falcon drive units, Italian birch ply cabinets and Falcon factory-assembled pre-wired crossovers. The drive units comprise a Falcon B139 woofer, Falcon B110 5-inch Bextrene Cone bass unit and 19mm Falcon T27 Mylar dome tweeter.

The manufacturer says the IMF200 can be completed in as little as two hours. All tools are provided, and there’s no soldering is required - to help assembly, the build is supported by a YouTube tutorial. Once built, the speakers weigh in at 34kg each.

Falcon Acoustics IMF200 Components
The IMF200 is a three-way 1/4 wave transmission line system featuring the Falcon B139 bass driver together with Falcon B110 and T27 drive units. Supplied components include CNC-engineered B110 retaining rings; Falcon factory-assembled, pre-wired and precision-matched crossovers with UK-made Falcon polypropylene capacitors, and birch ply cabinets made in Italy and veneered in natural walnut, light oak or rosewood finishes.

The IMF200 system uses parts exclusively sourced and manufactured in the UK/EU. The kit is priced at £2,795 for the Walnut and Light Oak finishes, and £3,195 for Rosewood.
