Epson is now shipping a trio of new UHD resolution home cinema projectors. The 3LCD EH-TW7400, EH-TW9400 and EH-TW9400W boast a dynamic contrast ratio up to 1,200,000:1, 4K-enhancement technology, with HDR support.

The EH-TW9400 and its wireless stablemate boast a White and Colour Light Output of 2,400 lumens on the EH-TW7400, and 2,600 lumens on the TW9400 models. An ultra-wide colour gamut claims to increase the range of lifelike colour, with a contrast ratio of 200,000:1 and 1,200,000:1 for the two TW9400 models.

Sports content benefits from frame interpolation and Detail Enhancement. The EH-TW7400 supports HDR10, while the EH-TW9400 and EH-TW9400W also handle HLG.

Motorised optics include a powered 2.1x optical zoom, with a lens shift of ±96.3 per cent vertical and ±47.1 per cent horizontal. Epson rates lamp life at 5000 hours in Eco mode, which it says is enough to “watch a movie every day on the big screen for the next seven year without needing a lamp replacement.”

The EH-TW9400W allows 4K content to be streamed to the projector from smartphones, games consoles and Blu-ray players via HDMI to the 4K WiHD transmitter. Installers should note that they have a memory to store up to ten different screen formats.

“It’s not one star feature, but the combination of a number of technologies that makes the difference when you’re watching a film,” says Paul White, product manager for Epson Europe. “Our latest home cinema PRO UHD models deliver on every front to deliver a really impressive yet affordable portfolio for film fanatics.”

The EH-TW9400 retails for £1900, with the EH-TW9400 and EH-TW9400W at £2,550 and £2,900 respectively.
