Epson has announced its first ultra short throw 1080p (WUXGA resolution) home cinema projector, the EH-LS100, along with a wide range of Full HD 3LCD lamp-based models, at IFA 2017.

A long lasting laser light source, and ease of installation make the EH-LS100 an intriguing proposition for space restricted rooms. The EH-LS100 can be positioned just 6cm away from any display surface and can throw a display between 70 to 130 inches.

The UST model boasts three HDMI inputs and has a high brightness output of 4,000 lumens. Contrast is rated at 2,500,000:1. An integrated speaker is rated at 16w. Epson says the laser light source will run for 20,0000 hours in ECO mode. This translates to 10 years worth of viewing, if used five hours a day.

The EH-LS100 will retail for £2,600 when it goes on sale in November.

The EH-TW610, EH-TW650, EH-TW5400, EH-TW5600 and EH-TW5650 are designed for home cinema and media room installations. The EH-TW5600 and EH-TW5650 both feature a 1.6x zoom and vertical lens shift; the EH-TW5650 Miracast and screen-mirroring and the EH-TW610 and EH-TW650 built-in Wi-Fi, allowing users to share content from a smart device using Epson's iProjection app

The models offer an equally high White and Colour Light Output, from 2,500 to 3,600 lumens, capable of high contrast ratio images. Models on display at IFA (pictured above) were shown in areas of high brightness, but still impressed with their colourful impact. Detail Enhancement and frame interpolation is available on the EH-TW5400, EH-TW5600 and EH-TW5650 models, said to provide more fluid action and reduced motion blur in scenes of fast moving action.

The brand has also unveiled a new line of dual-use portable entertainment and data projectors, consisting of the EB-S05, EB-X05, EB-W05, EB-S41, EB-X41, EB-W41 (all with a single HDMI input), EH-TW610, EH-TW650, EH-TW5400, EH-TW5600, EH-TW5650, EB-U05 (with dual HDMI inputs). A carry case is provided with the EB-S41, EB-X41 and EB-W41.
