Elan by Core brands has introduced a trio of new Video over IP products. Designed to deliver visually lossless video and virtually latency-free distribution of HDMI video, at 4K UHD resolution over a 1GB Ethernet switch, the line comprises the EL-4KPM-VIP-TX transmitter, EL-4KPM-VIP-RX receiver and EL-4KPM-VIP-CTRL control module (pictured above).

“The industry has been requesting a Video over IP solution that is extremely scalable for today’s large residential installations, and this new line does just that,” says Core Brands VP Product Management Mike Jordan. “AV distribution is an essential component of home control and automation systems, and ELAN dealers now have virtually infinite configurability options for their installations.”

The products offer four operational modes, covering a variety of AV distribution application requirements: Matrix distribution with unlimited configuration options, Video Wall presentation, One-to-Many HDMI distribution, and One-to-One HDMI extender. All third-party control systems are supported.

In addition to ELAN VoIP built-in video scaling, configuration software promises custom installers flexibility when it comes to installations. “Installing this line does not require knowledge of networks or creating VLAN’s,” Jordan adds.

“The bandwidth requirements of HDMI are ever increasing,” adds Jordan. “Video over IP protocols allow for convenient and cost-effective distribution of these HDMI signals that otherwise isn’t possible. ELAN’s new solutions are infinitely scalable to incorporate virtually any number of transmitters and receivers.”

They can be powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) from a PoE enabled Ethernet switch or a PoE injector. The EL-4KPM-VIP-TX can also be powered locally when PoE is not an option.

All HDMI audio formats, including Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio, are supported.

Elan is available through Indigo Distribution.
