Dynaudio will introduce an extensive new range of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers at CEDIA Expo 2019 in Denver, Colorado. The company has confirmed that it will use the tradeshow to launch its slimline Custom Performance range, plus a special fire-resistant back-box and two new outdoor loudspeakers.

All use the same technologies as Dynaudio’s highly regarded home, professional and in-car systems.

Designed for multiroom and media room applications, the Custom Performance series marks an entry-point into Dynaudio’s Custom product line-up.

The rectangular in-wall speakers (pictured above) are a one-piece design that slots into place and is secured by tightening special dog-legs that grip the dry-wall. The ceiling speakers twist and lock it in place, no tools required.

The Performance series comprises the P4-W65 in-wall speaker (with 28mm soft-dome tweeter and 165mm woofer), P4-W80 in-wall speaker (28mm soft-dome tweeter, 203mm MSP woofer), P4-C65 in-ceiling speaker (28mm soft-dome tweeter, 165mm woofer), P4-DVC65 in-ceiling speaker (two 28mm soft-dome tweeters, 165mm woofer), P4-C80 in-ceiling speaker (28mm soft-dome tweeter, 203mm woofer), P4-LCR50 in-wall LCR speaker (28mm soft-dome tweeter, and two 127mm woofers).

There is also an accompanying shallow-depth, fire-proof metal back-box. It’s loaded with Morgan Superwool said to provide one hour of protection, and will mount into standard 16-inch-on-centre studs.

Also making their debut at Expo are two new additions to the Dynaudio Custom Outdoor line. The OW-6 (with a 28mm softdome tweeter and a 165mm woofer) and OW-8 (with a 28mm tweeter and 203mm woofer) are both IP65-rated and can operate in temperatures from -33˚C – 40˚C.

Both can be connected to a regular amplifier as a pair of passive 8Ω speakers, or daisy-chained on a single 70V/100V system by using the selector on the rear. The company says the models are suitable for outdoor spaces and commercial applications, where a consistent sound level s required across a large area.

Available in black or white, they include articulating brackets.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for installers to do their jobs, which is why we’ve kept our entire Custom range super-simple to specify and install,” says Peter Gibb, Business Development Manager, Europe (CI). “But most of all, we want their clients to have incredible sound quality to enjoy their music and films. These new products make that job even easier.”
