Dolby tech dominates 2019 Academy Awards nominations

Dolby is celebrating following this year’s Oscar Academy Awards nominations. All five films nominated for Sound Mixing and Sound Editing gongs were presented in Dolby Atmos, while five of the eight Best Picture nominees, and three of the five Best Animated Film noms, used both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

2019 will be seventh year the Dolby Theatre has been the home to the Academy Awards. Dolby technology has been powering Oscar nominations since the 1978 release of Star Wars.

The 2019 Academy Awards will be held at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 24.
