Dolby has announced Dolby On integration with streaming service Twitch, and rolled out an Android version of the free audio-enhancing app. Previously only available on IoS, Dolby On allows content creators such as musicians, vloggers and podcasters to enhance audio quality with minimal effort.
The Dolby On Twitch integration will be of particular interest to musicians now live streaming performances, eager to offer high quality audio.
Dolby On is able to reduce errant background noise (be it unintended electrical hum or fan noise), and optimise audio quality on highly compressed social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
The app offers a variety of sonic filters, to influence post processing, such as enhanced bass or treble boost.
“Musicians are taking up streaming to connect to fans globally, and Dolby wants to make sure every stream has incredible sound quality,” said Philip Nicol, Director, Corporate Strategy and Development, Dolby Laboratories. “By adding Twitch to our list of live streaming options for Dolby On, our free app, any artist can sound great, even without a home studio or expensive microphone.”
