Disney+ will debut in the UK with a content library of over 500 films, more than 350 series and a slate of 26 exclusive Disney+ Originals, the streamer has revealed.
Included are seasons 1 – 30 of The Simpsons, comprising over 600 episodes. Season 31 will be available to stream from November 2020.
Genre fans are well served. The service launches with 30 movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the Star Wars collection, including the entire run of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and break-out hit The Mandalorian.
The service will offer movies in 4k Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos, where available.
Marvel TV series includes Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Marvel’s Runaways.
Classic Disney animations include Cinderella, Sword in the Stone and The Little Mermaid. Also available are movie classics from the Fox library, including Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, Ice Age, Sister Act and Avatar.
National Geographic documentaries on the schedule include BAFTA-nominated Jane, the Sundance Audience Award-winning Science Fair, and conservation-focused Into the Okavango, and the Will Smith hosted One Strange Rock.
The Disney+ Originals include High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The World According To Jeff Goldblum, Lady and the Tramp, and The Imagineering Story.
The streaming service will launch in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland on March 24. Viewers have the option of subscribing for a year for the introductory price of £50 (until march). Thereafter it becomes £60 annually, or £6 a month.
Additional Western Europe markets, including Belgium, the Nordics, and Portugal, will follow in summer 2020.
