Denon has launched its first all-in-one soundbar with DTS Virtual:X virtual surround. The DHT-S216 employs 3D algorithms developed by DTS to simulate a home theatre system, without recourse to Dolby Atmos or upfiring drivers.

Just 6cm tall, the low profile £199 bar features two 76mm down-firing subwoofers, two racetrack-sized dual mid-range drivers and two 25mm tweeters. The system comes without a wireless subwoofer.

Connectivity includes 4K UHD HDMI with ARC, with 4k/60Hz support and HDCP 2.2, a digital optical audio input and analogue auxiliary. Wireless streaming over Bluetooth is also supported.

In addition to virtual surround, the system also has a Pure Mode which eliminates surround processing and removes any adjusted characteristics associated with Movie, Music or Night modes.

“The latest soundbar from Denon has been engineered to deliver the most lifelike listening experience, including detail, balance and bass extension far beyond other soundbars in this size and price range,” says Michael Greco, Global Sr. Director of Brand Management for Denon. “The DHT-S216 leverages partnerships with the industry’s leading virtual surround sound manufacturers like DTS and Dolby to provide people with a simple way to experience the excitement of cinematic sound quality at home.”
