Denon launches low cost soundbar with DTS Virtual X

Denon has launched its first all-in-one soundbar with DTS Virtual:X virtual surround. The DHT-S216 employs 3D algorithms developed by DTS to simulate a home theatre system, without recourse to Dolby Atmos or upfiring drivers.

Just 6cm tall, the low profile £199 bar features two 76mm down-firing subwoofers, two racetrack-sized dual mid-range drivers and two 25mm tweeters. The system comes without a wireless subwoofer.

Connectivity includes 4K UHD HDMI with ARC, with 4k/60Hz support and HDCP 2.2, a digital optical audio input and analogue auxiliary. Wireless streaming over Bluetooth is also supported.

In addition to virtual surround, the system also has a Pure Mode which eliminates surround processing and removes any adjusted characteristics associated with Movie, Music or Night modes.
