Denon has expanded its soundbar lineup with two new models, the DHT-S516H and DHT-S716H. Both support voice control through connected Amazon Echo or Google Home speakers and Heos multiroom functionality.
Heos support brings with it access to music from a variety of leading streaming services, including Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer and tidal.
The DHT-S516H (pictured below) decodes core Dolby Digital and DTS, while the flagship DHT-S716H is Dolby True HD and DTS HD-MA compatible. They are not, however, Dolby Atmos compliant.
Connectivity includes 4k HDMI, optical digital audio input, Bluetooth built-in and 3.5mm auxiliary input. Audio file support covers DSD (up to 5.6 MHz), 24-bit FLAC, WAV and ALAC, plus MP3, WMA and MP3.
The compact DHT-S516H (pictured below) stands just over 7cm tall, and features a Denon Dialogue Enhancer. It's suitable for media room use, including sports, movies and gaming.
The high-end DHT-S716H (pictured top) pairs with the Denon DSW-1H wireless subwoofer, while the smaller model is packaged with its own wireless sub in a 2,1 package. Siblings of sorts to the brand’s HEOS Bar and HEOS HomeCinema HS2, both employ Class-D amplification.
The DHT-S716H can also be partnered with a variety of Heos speakers. The HEOS 1, HEOS 3, HEOS 5 and HEOS 7 can be used as rear channels in a 5.1 set-up. It has four HDMI inputs with 4K Ultra HD passthrough.
The DHT-S516H, DHT-S716H and DSW-1H retail for £699, £799 and £599 respectively.
