Denon has launched a new HEOS soundbar and subwoofer. The incoming HEOS bar is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and supports the usual selection of streaming services, including Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud and Tidal. Connections include a quartet of 4K-compatible HDMI 2.0a HDCP 2.2 inputs, able to deliver HDR content sources to screen. Distribution is via AWE.

A three-channel design, the HEOS bar employs nine drivers in a 45 degree configuration. DSP processing is used to create a virtual surround experience. There’s onboard decoding for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio sources. The new bar works with both original HEOS models and the brand’s HS2 iteration of wireless speakers, and supports Hi-Res Audio sources. File compatibility includes DSD.

It can be used solo, with subwoofer (3.) or integrated with a pair of HEOS speakers, for a physical 5.1 multichannel sound system.

The HEOS bar measures 72 x 1100 x 148 mm (h/w/d) and weighs 4.8kg.

The optional HEOS Subwoofer can be used vertically or horizontally, and has two 13.5 cm drive units allied to unspecified Class D amplification. Advanced digital signal processing is said to optimise the sound for each HEOS configuration. Setup can be achieved via factory presets on the HEOS app, or manually via advanced settings for users.
