Denon has announced its first soundbar with Google Chromecast built in, the DHT-S416. The mid-range 2.1 system offers voice control via a Google Assistant device and can be grouped with other Chromecast-enabled speakers to create a wireless multiroom system. Using Chromecast, a wide number of music services can be streamed from a smartphone, including Hi-Res sources.
Standing 5.6cm tall, the sports a pair of full-range oval drivers and two 25mm tweeters. The partnering wireless subwoofer features a 5.25-inch driver in a ported enclosure. Connections include HDMI ARC and an optical digital audio input. It’s also Bluetooth enabled.
While Dolby Atmos is off the menu, it does offer a trio of EQ presets (Movie, Music, and Night) and variable Dialogue Enhancer modes for improving dialogue intelligibility.
The Denon DHT-S416 sells for £299.
