UK Hi-Fi company Damson Audio has announced the world's smallest multiroom and soundbar system. Its new S-Series range comprises the S-Bar soundbar and compact wireless subwoofer, along with a portable Bluetooth speaker, the S-Cube. The latter can be used to provide surround audio in conjunction with the soundbar and sub, or placed around the house for multiroom audio streaming.

The system, which can support up to eight connected speakers, creates its own mesh network to distribute audio.

“Industry norm seems to dictate that soundbars and subwoofers are big ugly black boxes and that wireless audio systems are complicated to set up. We want people to have the choice of something more compact and elegantly designed that allows them to be submerged in high quality audio no matter what they are listening to at a price that is affordable,” explains CEO James Talbot..

S-Series

Just 25cm wide, the soundbar is small enough to sit beneath most screens, but can also be wall-mounted. It features six drivers and during an early preview given to Inside CI, deliverr a surprisingly wide spread of sound. System inputs include digital audio, HDMI and 3.5mm line input. USB Type-C is provided for device charging. It also supports Bluetooth via NFC.

Total power output is rated at 58W. The S-Cube, boasts a five driver configuration with an integrated woofer. It has an 18W amplifier onboard; a Lithium Ion battery promises eight hours of portable power. The S-Series is expected to launch in December, and is being pre-sold on crowd-funding site Indiegogo.
