Crestron has announced a major revamp of its Pyng smart home control platform, with the release of Pyng OS 2 this October.
Debuting on the new rack-mountable CP3-R 3-Series control system, Pyng OS 2 supports full integration of video control and distribution including DigitalMedia products, AV receivers, local sources, set-top boxes and remote controls.
The CP3-R will offer a full range of control ports for home automation, home cinema, multiroom video and MDU applications.
The Crestron Pyng OS 2 will be available as an update for all existing Crestron Pyng Hubs shortly after the CPR-3 product launch.
The system integrates audio, video, lighting, motorised shades, climate control, door locks and sensors, with no programming needed. Support for cloud-based services, enables client systems to be maintained remotely.
One key feature of Pyng OS 2 is the ability to define all video connections visually, controlling video and sources, and grouping audio devices. The Pyng OS 2 interface is available via handheld remotes, keypads, touch screens and mobile devices.
“It’s an industry-changer,” enthuses Michael Short, Global Residential Marketing Manager. “It brings together the full universe of best-in-class Crestron products in a complete whole home solution: lighting, motorised shades, audio, climate control, door locks, security, and now video, including Crestron DigitalMedia products.”
