Hi-Fi industry body The Clarity Alliance has given retail group Audio T its Honorary Fellowship award. Previously the award has been given to individuals deemed to have made a significant contribution to the UK hi-fi industry.
Presenting the award to Audio T director Jerry Lewin at the Bristol Sound & Vision Show, Clarity’s chairman, Tom Barron, said: “As with so many of our hi-fi retailers, Audio T was founded many years ago and has survived the turmoil of the high street, in the face of stiff competition from discounters, mail order companies, the internet and the many new ways that people now listen to music other than through hi-fi systems.
The company still has a significant high street presence and has also been responsible for the organising of the Bristol hi-fi show for 31 years, which has helped put hi-fi in front of the UK consumer. It is therefore a very worthy recipient of this year’s Honorary Fellowship award for outstanding contribution to the UK hi-fi industry.”
Clarity also awarded Best of Show accolades to five companies judged to have put on the best displays and demonstrations. Best Home Cinema Room was won by Karma AV, Best Sounding Hi-Fi Room went to Astin Trew, Best Presented Room was won by Quad, and Best Innovation went to Roon Nucleus. Winner of the Overall Best of Show award was Dynaudio
