The Cleerline Technology Group believes it will revolutionise the deployment of fibre optic cables within the custom install industry. The brand's easier-to-install Cleerline Non Strip Fibre (NSF) range is being promoted as "a fast and safe alternative for custom installers that simplifies and improves the fibre termination process." The line will be showcased at CEDIA Expo 2012.
Cleerline principal Rick Sant says NSF has enjoyed "incredible" feedback since its introduction: "It's easier to use than CAT5, we predict that fibre will become the main cable used within residential and commercial environments."
Unlike rival types of fibre cables, NSF's proprietary polymer coating integration removes the need for stripping the acrylate 250um buffer coating, thereby allowing the installer to quickly terminate mechanical splice style connections. The brand says it also eliminates the risk of glass scarring or imperfections caused by stripping when terminating either mechanical or epoxy style connectors.
Cees van Wendel de Joode, International Sales Manager for distributors Amber International says it makes fibre optics a far more approachable technology. "Fibre can now be used without expensive equipment or specialist skills," he says. "NSF cables are also great value for money and supplied in a choice of lengths which make them very versatile, whatever the application".
The Cleerline cables will be supplied in both single and multimode duplex options. The single-mode can reach up to 12km, while the multi-mode stretches to 500km. Not only does this make the interconnect ideal for all types of residential work, but it also lends itself to larger commercial applications such as offices, schools and museums.
Cleerline NSF is compatible with all common market connector systems using standard 50/125 multi-mode and 9/125 single-mode fibres, and supports all broadband applications. Cleerline's own hinge patented AJW Connector promises easy fibre insertion as well as providing the best resistance for both push and pull strain relief, when terminating the 3mm jacketed fibre.
