US audio visual outfit AVocation Systems will debut the Mountain Series HX-0808HA 8x8 HDMI Matrix at the upcoming CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis. It's the first digital matrix from the brand to offer eight independently steerable analogue and digital audio inputs/outputs with volume control.
Designed to resolve problems associated with HDMI/audio distribution, this new model provides eight HDMI connections, eight analogue phonos and a matching number of coaxial digital audio inputs/outputs. Each I/O supports simultaneous or independent routing of HDMI or audio. Digital audio can also be routed independently for maximum flexibility.
Any of the eight HDMI inputs on the HX-0808HA can be routed to any or all of the eight HDMI outputs; the audio inputs/outputs can be mapped to match. EDID/Key management takes care of latency issues. For added versatility, the AVocation Systems matrix will also route signals from a single set top box, out to multiple displays.
"It's crucial for us to be dialed in on what dealers are looking for in future products and we can only do this by listening to them, and learning the problems that come into play when routing audio with HDMI," explains sales and marketing manager Trent Mulligan. He promises that the HX-0808HA will be the first in a line of products to address these issues. "Our ultimate goal is to solve all of the audio problems that can arise when distributing HDMI."
The HDCP compliant AVocation System HX-0808HA includes full support for 3D content, and resolutions up to 1080p/60. Control options are IP, RS-232, USB and Infrared. The matrix is rack mountable and takes up two rack units.
