Cambridge Audio has expanded its Bluetooth speaker family with the Yolo (L), the largest in its range of wireless speakers.

The speaker features six drivers: front and side mounted wide dispersion full-rangers, plus an integrated subwoofer. It’s been designed for simple installation on a TV stand, shelf or sideboard.

The big new Yolo is a one room audio hub. In addition to Wifi with NFC and Bluetooth, it has Chromecast built-in, HDMI with ARC, optical and aux digital connections, plus Spotify Connect. The speaker measures 269 x 269 x 125mm (h) (w/h/d).

The DSP in Yoyo uses MaxxAudio, a suite of advanced audio enhancement tools from Waves. The Yoyo (L) can also learn a TV remote’s volume commands for better integration.

Design touches include the use of a wraparound ‘sound-transparent’ fabric. The materials have been specially created as part of an exclusive partnership with British weavers Marton Mills. Available in Dark Grey or Light Grey, the manufacturing process also included the application of a NanoSphere treatment, to ensure the cloth is both water and dirt repellent.

The Yoyo (L) will be available in January from cambridgeaudio.com and Richer Sounds, retailing for £350.
