The latest iteration of Bluesound’s Hi-Res streaming amplifier, the Powernode 2i, can now be used as part of a wireless BluOS-based 5.1 home cinema system. The feature is included as part of a suite of improvements in the newly released BluOS 3.8 firmware update.

The wide-reaching BluOS firmware update also brings with it support for Apple AirPlay 2 on the NAD M12 digital pre-amplifier, and M32 integrated amplifier, with the addition of an MDC BluOS 2i card.

BluOS also now enables MQA-CD ripping on the Bluesound Vault and Masters M50 products. MQA-CD has found an audience in Japan, where physical media remains highly sought after.

Other improvements delivered via the update include expanded IR learning capabilities, new front panel display layouts for the NAD Masters M10, support for BluOS Controller when multitasking on iOS devices.

BluOS users can also take advantage of Custom Channels and Qsic, a new music streaming services for businesses and commercial spaces operating in Australia.
