Audiolab has added the 6000N Play network audio streamer to its its 6000 Series hi-fi component range. The 6000N Play is built on the DTS Play-Fi wireless audio platform, and can stream from any source on a wireless network, be it smartphones, tablets, PCs, NAS drives and music servers.

Other brands that support the DTS Play-Fi ecosystem, include Arcam, Martin Logan, McIntosh, Onkyo, Rotel and Sonus Faber. It also connects wirelessly with other Play-Fi-equipped devices, enabling a synchronised multiroom set-up.

The 6000N Play offers access to all key music services, including Spotify, Tidal, HDtracks, Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Napster and TuneIn. It’s also DLNA and UPnP compliant. The 6000N Play is hi-res audio enabled, capable of receiving data up to 24- bit/192kHz resolution over Wi-Fi, without transcoding or down-sampling.

Beneath the lid is an ES9018 Sabre32 DAC, as found in the Audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier. ESS Technology’s 32-bit HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, coupled to Audiolab’s own circuitry, delivers ultra-low noise and high dynamic range.

The inclusion of a DAC stage means the 6000N Play can be used with any audio system, connectable via its analogue outputs. Other connections include optical and coaxial digital audio. There are minimal controls on the component itself, just the standby button and a set of six presets. These can offer instant access to an internet radio station or a playlist.

Available in black or silver, the Audiolab 6000N retails for £450.
