Atlantic Technology has unveiled a new range of slim CI-friendly subwoofers which offer both wired and wireless connectivity, for maximum versatility. Designed to be used with transmitter adapters or companion Atlantic Technology wireless amps and speakers with built-in transmitters, the new models feature low-latency SKAA wireless audio technology.

A small adapter can be used to turn any audio device into a SKAA transmitter. The subs also feature conventional LFE line connectivity

US prices are $399 for the 6.5-inch woofer 100-watt amplified FS-S65 and $549 MSRP for the 8-inch 150-watt FS-S8.

Currently wireless subwoofers are generally designed for soundbars and use Wi-Fi signals that only work with the same brand of sound bars or speakers, with no provision for a wired connection.

Just 177m deep, the FS Series feature a long-throw bass driver and 4-layer aluminum voice coil. The FS-S65 (pictured top) is finished in an all satin-black finish, while the FS-S8 gets a high-gloss piano-black finish. The cabinet can be positioned vertically behind a couch, or horizontally even hidden under furniture. They can also be wall mounted.

The FS-S65 has a 6.5-inch bass driver, the FS-S8 (pictured below) an 8-inch driver. They feature 100 and 150 watt amplification respectively.

Optimisation controls include an adjustable 50Hz to 300Hz, 12dB per octave low-pass crossover. The level control matches output volume to the rest of the system and a Phase switch is included for acoustic matching with satellite speakers.

The subs aren’t just for movie use. With a low latency of 36ms, they can be used in music systems too, says the brand.

Atlantic Technology is exclsuively distributed in the UK by Connected Distribution.
