Arcam v1.3.0 MusicLife app adds Tidal and Qobuz streaming to networked Hi-Hi and AV components

Arcam has released a new version of its iOS MusicLife UPnP streaming app, adding new features to networked of Hi-Fi and AV components, including for the first time Arcam Solo Systems and disc players. Included in the v1.3.0 update are streaming services Tidal and Qobuz; there's also internet radio and podcast support.

Tidal and Qobuz allow streaming of lossless FLAC audio at 16 bit / 44 kHz full CD resolution.

The following Arcam products are compatible with MusicLife: Solo Music, Solo Movie, CDS27 SACD/CD player, airDAC, UDP411 Blu Ray player, AVR850, AVR550, SR250, AV950, AVR750, AVR450, AVR380, AVR400, AVR360, AV888, AVR600 and AVR500.

The MusicLife app gives users complete control of the media player in an Arcam network-based music system, including playback of content stored on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. Also, playback to any Bluetooth device is possible including the Arcam Solo Bar, rBlink or miniBlink (pictured below).

With an Arcam rBlink or miniBlink and the MusicLife app, installers can turn any audio component into an iPad, iPhone controlled network music streamer. Simply plug an rBlink or miniBlink into any audio product device with stereo inputs.

Arcam advises users of the following to upgrade to the latest firmware for best performance:
CDS27 SACD/CD player - firmware v083
UDP411 Blu-ray player - firmware v082
2016 Solo Movie 2.1 / 5.1 - firmware v36
2016 Solo Music - firmware v8
