British TV specialist Aquavision has unveiled a 100-inch 4k LED LCD TV with 24ct gold plated aluminium surround. Aimed at the luxe end of the display market, the DB100 is being exclusively stocked in Harrods, and has a retail price of £108,000.
A global marketing drive launches Q1, but the company says it already has orders from the UK, Middle East and the USA. Aquavision says its clients include celebrities, business leaders and luxury hotels.
The ostentatious ultra-large screen has been manufactured in the UK, with the design team collaborating with high-end audio visual brand Bang & Olufsen. The TV can be operated by a Bang & Olufsen remote control and is fully compatible with B&O integration.
"We believe it is the most stunning and unique television ever produced in the world,” says Alastair Benn, managing director of Aquavision.
The DB100 runs Android 6 as a smart platform, and has HD and satellite tuners. It also features a toughened anti-reflective glass front. Aquavision is probably best known for its waterproof TV lines, but has now branched out to offer a range of in-wall and on-wall models.
