Acurus, a US-based specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end audio processors and amplifiers, has signed a distribution agreement with Habitech.

Headquartered at Indianapolis, Indiana, Acurus introduced its first high-end home theatre product line, the A2000 family of networked class A/B cinema amplifiers, in 2011. The current range comprises three processing models including the ACT-4 designs (up to 20-channel) and the new, slender 2RU ‘MUSE’ processor, scheduled for UK release in the first quarter of 2019.

Supporting amplifiers include the 2-channel Aries model, the Scorpion multi-zone design and the new 8-channel M8, matching and launching with the MUSE processor.

In 2016, the award-winning ACT 4 16-channel immersive processor became the first of its kind to launch in the sub £10k price range with full Dolby Atmos and DTS:X integration.

Commenting on the new arrangement, Habitech’s MD Jonathan Pengilley said “we’ve been looking for an exceptional audio processing brand to complement the performance of our Wisdom speaker line, and with its celebrated engineering pedigree, Acurus fits the bill perfectly. Acurus will enhance our peerless offer of performance, versatility and support to high-end cinema designers.”

Acurus’ VP of International Sales, Sheldon Combs said “we are very excited to partner with Habitech in the UK.  They are a great organisation and Acurus fits nicely with their product offering.  Acurus products are on the cutting edge of technology with the reliability that has earned them a great reputation among installers around the world.”
