Lossless CD quality music streaming service Tidal has expanded its hardware partnership program to include Linn, Sonos and Autonomic. Launched this autumn, the Tidal service already offers access to more than 25-million music tracks, and boasts distribution agreements with Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, as well as a multitude of independent labels. Tidal delivers 1411kbps 44.1 kHz/16-bit FLAC and ALAC streams, considerably higher than the 320kbps currently offered by rival Spotify.

The TIDAL music streaming service now appears within the Sonos Music Service Menu with a Beta tag. Autonomic has confirmed that the Tidal subscription service is now available from its Mirage MMS-2A and MMS-5A music servers.Mirage servers also offer Spotify, Last.fm, Rhapsody and TuneIn for selected markets, as well as system control for iTunes and Windows Media. Distribution is via Invision UK.

Linn has integrated the Tidal service into its DS network music players. Tidal services are accessed through Linn’s control app, Linn Kazoo. In celebration of this new partnership, TIDAL and Linn are offering Linn DS owners an exclusive free 60-day trial of TIDAL. Gilad Tiefenbrun, Managing Director at Linn, commented: “Linn has taken a pivotal role in establishing the market for high resolution music by making our recordings available to download at 24-bit Studio Master quality through linnrecords.com and offering playback of these through our world-leading Linn DS players. We are delighted to be working closely with TIDAL who share this strong commitment to delivering high quality music by making their lossless streaming service available to our customers in a seamless way for the first time.”
