Integrated Systems Events is evolving into a four day event from 2016. The news was announced by ISE Managing Director Mike Blackman, who says the change was largely due to the exhibition’s “rapid rise in size and prominence.” It will continue to be held at the Amsterdam RAI.

“This move has largely been driven by the demands of our exhibitors and attendees,” Blackman declared. “Quite simply, the extremely high attendance at the show, particularly on the first two days, saw increasing requests from exhibitors to have more time to spend with attendees. Blackman adds that the 2016 event will continue to evolve to deliver an increasing mix of pre-show and on-site events to compliment the exhibition halls. “There will a lot of exciting developments,” he said, “The extra day will allow ISE to become an even more rewarding experience for everyone at the show.”

Reacting to the news, Hamish Neale, director sales and marketing for Leaf Europe, told Inside CI: “From my perspective as a trade supplier I feel that this can only be a good thing. It will allow our customers greater flexibility as to which days they choose to spend away from their business visiting the show. ISE is the most important trade event in our calendar year and if more people are able to attend under this new format then it will only become more important.”

Marata Vision’s Michael Kay says the event really had no choice but to grow. “Due to the expansion over the years in relation to both exhibitors and attendees, now nearly a 1000 exhibitors, ISE had no choice but to expand,” he told Inside CI. “The show is always extremely busy especially for the first two days and has become saturated. The expansion of the show hopefully will not only make the show more comfortable for the visitor but also allow the exhibitor to spend a little more time with an attendee, win win for both!”

ISE 2015 attendance is expected to rise above the 51,000 people that came in 2014. At ISE 2015 a wide range of events will be taking place before and during the show. Pre show on February 9 visitors can attend the third annual Smart Building Conference, which will explore the continued evolution of smart building technology in the commercial and residential sectors. The keynote address will be presented by futurist Lars Thomsen. Thomsen specialises in advising businesses strategically on anticipated 10 year shifts in society and markets. The keynote will be called 520 Weeks into The Future: Trends and Tipping Points in the Electronic Systems Industry. ISE 2015 lists Microsoft; Intel and Dolby Atmos amongst first time exhibitors.
