The ability to easily specify and integrate biometric control systems as part of custom install project is about to become significantly easier, with the news that biometric solutions manufacturer Invixium, soon to be Control4 certified, has partnered with UK smart home software development outfit Janus Technology. As part of the deal, Janus will distribute Invixium’s Mycro, Sense and Touch products via its online web store Janus has also developed a two-way Control4 driver for Invixium hardware.

When installed at the entrance of a home, office or building, Invixium biometric devices provide access and security without the need for keys, PINs or passwords. Invixium fingerprint biometric products also support advanced profiling and personalisation within a home automation ecosystem. Based on the user profile, lighting schemes, AV equipment and appliances can literally be activated with the press of a finger.

“Smart home technology is the future in terms of how we access and control our homes,” says Shiraz Kapadia, Invixium CEO. “Our products have been meticulously designed to be elegant and simple enough for home implementation, yet flexible and powerful enough for commercial applications.”

Janus MD Richard Caton believes the potential for biometric control is significant. “With Control4 certification of the Mycro, Sense and Touch readers and associated driver, we’re looking forward to a tremendously exciting time for installers,” he says. “Bringing personalised automation with advanced biometric control is just the beginning for what’s possible.” For more on biometric control solutions, visit Janus technology online.
