Dedicated CI distributor Invision UK has released two in-depth product guides, covering  in-wall audio, video and control options and cabling solutions. Its Cabling Solutions brochure offers an extensive guide to category cable, structured cable, automation cable, speaker cable and HDMI, as well as plugs and other connectors, In addition to technical specifications, it offers integrators installation advice, product overviews, and ordering information. Subjects covered include discreet integration of internet, media, and communications, as well as retrofitting.

"No installer worth his salt would underestimate the need for high quality cabling," says business manager Mark Taylor,. "If you're going to install top-end entertainment systems and other electronics, you need to pull it all together using the best components." He warns that a poor choice could compromise audio and data integrity. Featured are one of Invision's key cable brands ICE. Specifically designed for custom installation, ICE cables combine high performance characteristics with easy cable stripping and a clear labelling system. "This all contributes to a valuable saving in time and money for busy installers."

Wiring guidelines are also included, as is a section on testing. WyreStorm's new testing kit is identified as an ideal tool to help integrators diagnose AV systems and digital connectivity on installations.

Similarly, Invision's Built-In Audio, Video & Control booklet features technical specifications, installation advice, product overviews, model numbers, and ordering information. The book is split into three sections, each of which provides technical data, installation guidelines and tips:

The Audio section offers information on Invision's in-wall speaker and subwoofer lines, and covers products from Niles, Sunfire, Pics, and Polk. The Built-in Video section features waterproof screens from Aquavision, suitable for bathrooms, kitchens and other humid environments, as well as projection screens. Control solutions featured include iPad in-wall docks from iRoom, the Galaxy Tab fixDock from CmoDe, and RTI dedicated in-wall controllers.
