Award-winning UK tech start-up Enado will be showcasing its unified home automation interface at the 2013 CES. Exhibiting at the Eureka Park Tech Zone (located in the Venetian), the Birmingham-based outfit was a winner in the annual UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) competition for UK start-ups working in the consumer electronics market, supported by the CEA. The brand's platform agnostic, web-based UI offers real-time remote home monitoring and appliance control over IP. Enado Company founder Adam Kent declared his team "extremely excited" to heading to Las Vegas. The company won the CES booth space after giving a three minute pitch in the UKTI Pitching Den against other competition finalists.
"The modern home is packed with electronic devices, home appliances, systems and services that are often not connected and unintelligent. Put simply, they cannot be monitored or controlled remotely and have no unified 'home interface'," he says, a problem Enado sets out to solve.
Enado offers a common software platform which allows all connected devices and services to be driven by an interface overlay. Users can monitor their appliances live on mobile devices, PCs or Smart TVs. The system, previously known as Open AV, is able to interpret data from energy meters, scheduling lights, devices or appliances to react accordingly, and has been lauded for its green credentials.
The company has already partnered with HD distribution experts Wyrestorm, which will be releasing its first Enado-based system early 2013. It says it's now seeking other organisations looking an advanced and flexible control and monitoring software solution.
