Leading CI and AV distributor Habitech has added the Wall-Smart range of flush-fitting wall-mount systems to its line of integration products. Designed for iOS and home-automation control screens and keypads from Crestron, Control4, Philips Dynalite, NuVo, Sonance, Savant, RTI, Luton Homeworks and Rako, the brand offers flush, paintable and accessible mounts, specifically-made for each device.

The Wall-Smart mounting system actually comprises a paintable custom frame and back box, designed to be installed in standard ½-inch (12.7mm) plasterboard drywall. The device or controller is placed in its appropriate frame and installed into the back box using magnets.

Each system is customised for home button easy access, as well as specific loudspeaker audio, microphone and thermal requirements. Access for maintenance and device removal is achieved through a push/release operation. There is also a security provision for devices. Once painted and txtured, the frame appears seamlessly integrated with the wall for a sleek custom-installed flush-fitted look.

"The iPad has become the control screen of choice for many integrators, and so its seamless integration with décor should be a high priority for CI pros," enthused Habitech MD Jonathan Pengilley. "We've chosen Wall-Smart as a proven, cost-effective and straightforward way to remove forever the wall-acne associated with home automation screens and keypads, in order to achieve the perfectly coordinated blend of electronics and décor demanded by installers, interior designers and their clients."
